I arrived at the lake with a heavy downpour and 15 mph winds.
Weather report predicted a cold front pushing through by the afternoon. As I suspected, the topwater bite was on while the cloud cover was heavy...also, the slight chop on the water added to the attractiveness of the lure. However, this chop also increases the chance of misses when the bass strike.
I ended up landing 13 scoring bass and missed probably 20 more. As soon as front passed through and gave way to blue skies and 30 mph winds, the bite was done.
